Stay and Sing is a new online choral initiative designed to keep singers connected, and to help them scratch that choral itch whilst meeting in person isn't possible.  Like a regular Come and Sing, we draw together singers from different communities, and let them explore some of the most popular choral works, all from the comfort of their settees!

Our first Stay and Sing, held on 4 April 2020, featured Mozart's Coronation Mass, when 160 singers from around Europe joined us.  Our next session focussed on two of Handel's beloved Coronation Anthems, Zadok the Priest and Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened, and our third event, sticking with the coronation anthem theme, concentrated on the uplifting, rousing I Was Glad by Parry, paired with Handel's Hallelujah Chorus and Parry's Jerusalem.  Next in the series came Vivaldi's joyous Gloria.

Our next Stay and Sing will be held on Sunday 6 December 2pm-4.15pm.  Since Christmas concerts and carol services aren't possible this year, why not join us instead for a festive array of Christmas songs and carols?  After a physical and vocal warm up, we'll be learning, rehearsing and finally singing the music all the way through, and through the magic of technology, you'll be able to hear and see all you need; just bring a copy of 100 Carols for Choirs* and a Christmas jumper! Repertoire to include In the Bleak Midwinter (Darke), Nativity Carol (Rutter), The Holly and the Ivy, Winter Wonderland and more!

*If you don't have a copy of 100 Carols, we can direct you to appropriate websites, from where you can download/purchase scores.
